Research grants

About our research grants

We award grants to encourage and further medical research.

Approximately 10 research grants totalling £500,000 are awarded each year, all funded by past bequests to the BMA.

The grants provide funding for a variety of different subject areas, ranging from research into rheumatism and arthritis, to cardiovascular disease, cancer and neurological disorders.

The application process for the 2013 research grants is now closed.

Deadline for submitted online applications was 5pm 15 March 2013.
