General Practitioners Committee

Who we are

doctor and patientThe General Practitioners Committee (GPC) is the only body that represents all NHS general practitioners in the UK, regardless of whether they are BMA members.

We are responsible for negotiating the GP contract with NHS Employers, and work to improve the care of patients and the working lives of doctors.

We are also responsible for all matters concerning prison doctors.

The Committee meets monthly and much of our work is done by subcommittees and task groups.

Dr Chaand Nagpaul is Chairman of the General Practitioners Committee
