Delays in registering GP trainees damaging patient care, warns GP leaders

Responding to reports in Pulse that there have been delays in registering new GP trainees to performer's lists in Oxfordshire and the West Midlands, Dr Richard Vautrey, BMA GP deputy committee chair, said: "At a time when general practice is buckling under pressure from rising patient demand, falling resources and staff shortages, we need to ensure every potential new GP are given the best training opportunities possible so they can deliver first rate care to patients in the future.

Government must think again about short-sighted measures to increase retention
