BMJ offers help with revalidation
1 February 2013
BMA members can benefit from new BMJ Learning support tools to help them through revalidation.
BMJ Learning has just released four new podcast modules on revalidation, which was introduced for all doctors at the end of last year.
Doctors will be required to demonstrate that they are up to date and fit to practise on a regular basis.
The podcasts are aimed at those working in primary or secondary care or who are appraisers. There is also an interview with GMC chair Professor Sir Peter Rubin, the first UK doctor to be revalidated.
BMA members can access all BMJ Learning modules as a membership benefit.
In the podcast, Sir Peter advises doctors that the key to successful appraisal and revalidation is ‘planning and recording as you go along’.
He recommends using e-portfolios to record continuing professional development throughout the year.
An e-portfolio is available on the BMJ website.
