Call for sessional GP election candidates
8 February 2013
Nominations opened this week for 16 seats on the influential GPC sessional GPs subcommittee.
GP leaders want to see new talent stepping forward from the 13 regions across the UK to represent the interests of salaried, locum and freelance GPs.
Latest figures show that more than one-fifth of the GP workforce now consists of salaried GPs, up from 8 per cent in 2004. There are also significant numbers of locum GPs.
Sessional GPs who wish to put their names forward can fill in a nomination form and return it to the BMA by March 7 at 5pm.
