Mid Staffs report due today
6 February 2013
NHS systems that failed to detect problems at the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust are expected to face serious criticism today.
The final report of the public inquiry into the events at the trust between 2005 and 2009 is due to be published this morning.
Inquiry chair Robert Francis QC has been examining the role of the commissioning, supervisory and regulatory bodies in monitoring the trust.
The report is expected to lead to renewed calls for care and compassion to be put at the heart of the health service.
