2025 ARM Division seat allocations

ARM is our main policy-forming meeting, where you can discuss, debate and vote on motions which form the policy that directs our association in the year ahead and for the future.

Half of the seats to ARM are allocated to BMA divisions. Elections are conducted via the BMA's online nomination and election system across all division areas in the UK. This means that all BMA members will have the opportunity to nominate and vote in these elections.

Key dates
11 December Nominations for ARM division representatives open
14 January Nominations for ARM division representative close
17 January Election for ARM division representatives open
13 February Election for ARM division representative close
23 – 25 June ARM 2025, ACC Liverpool and online

We encourage nominations from members who are underrepresented on our elected structures, including women, members from an ethnic minority background, LGBTQ+ members, and members who are disabled, neurodivergent or have a long-term condition.

It is essential that all members review their division details to ensure they are correctly listed. Members can check and update their division information.

If you would like to nominate yourself, please visit our elections portal.

If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact [email protected]

The BMA Family friendly fund provides care arrangements to allow members to participate fully in BMA activities. Read more about care support.

Junior doctors have changed their title to ‘resident doctors’

As of 18 September, all references to junior doctors in BMA communications have been changed to ‘resident doctors’.

Making up nearly 25% of all doctors in the UK, this cohort will now have a title that better reflects their huge range of skills and responsibilities.
