The purpose of the webinar is to build upon the guidance provided for doctors who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and to provide an informative platform to support members to improve the standard of working conditions and experiences for pregnant doctors working for the NHS.

What you will learn

Our aim is to educate residents doctors about:

  • Maternity leave, paternity leave & SPL - know your rights, focus on eligibility
  • Brief overview of timeline including: what to do when you find out you are pregnant, key deadlines to inform different people, what the risk assessment involves and what the options are (including case studies)
  • Shared parental leave - what the options are (fixed rights) + other options. Every doctor has the right to take shared parental leave
  • Breastfeeding - rights, including case studies to make it clear the extent of rights.
